Coming to current generation November 19th, PS4 & Xbox One later this year.
Criterion are teaming up with the freshly re-named Ghost Games to develop the next game in the Need For Speed series, “Need For Speed Rivals” with EA once again on publishing duty.
It is being built on the Frostbite 3 engine, the platform behind the upcoming Battlefield 4 game and is going to give players “the freedom to seamlessly go from single player to co-op to multiplayer”. Very Burnout-esq then.
As per most Need For Speed titles, there will be a high level of customisation, including paint jobs, liveries and even number plates.
The game is set to take place in Redview County, a fictional open world environment where players can take the roles of street racers or the police who are tasked with stopping them. The aim? Become the most bad-ass street racer or defeat the pesky boy racers as the 5-0.
The game is set to be released on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 19. The game has been confirmed for the PS4 and Xbox One with a loose release window of “later this year”.
As you can see from the below screen shot of the rear of an Aston Martin Vanquish, the detail level looks obscene.
What do you think? A challenger for racer crown or will DriveClub, GT6 and Forza 5 blow it away?
